Way Back Now

Way Back Now

If you’re going to the way back—well son
It’s laid out before ya
It’s just a simple step back, step up
Into time immortal
Listen to that old river sing
It cuts the canyon deep
It’s there you can lose your thoughts
Upon its wall so steep

It's the smoky purple sky
That rushes in the edge of  night
Or maybe it’s the stillness
That will cut you deep and wide

Could it be that rainbow trout
That finds you on the high road
The fine journey that will keep

The signs they are many
When you open to sights and sound
Of way back before that brings to light
Your brief appearance in this
World of wonder

------ Just stop and look around -----
